*INSECURITY IN OKE-OGUN: A CRY FOR URGENT GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION.*
The Oke-Ogun Indigenous Youths Solidarity Forum, under the leadership of Comrade Dr. Ojedokun Jonathan, wishes to urgently draw the attention of the Oyo State Government and relevant security agencies to the worsening security situation in Oke-Ogun.
We are no longer safe in our land. The people of Oke-Ogun are living in fear due to repeated attacks and criminal activities in our communities.
It is with deep pain and sorrow that we recount the recent killing of Baba Abel Oyedokun Atilola, a retired teacher in Tede, Atisbo Local Government Area. He was reportedly attacked and killed by suspected criminals, and his motorcycle and mobile phone were taken from him. This tragic incident has left the entire Tede community and Oke-Ogun region in shock and mourning.
The manner in which this respected elder was killed is heartbreaking and unacceptable. Our fathers, mothers, farmers, traders, and students can no longer move freely without fear of attack.
We therefore use this medium to passionately appeal to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, to urgently intervene and rescue the people of Oke-Ogun from these security threats.
We humbly call on the Oyo State Government to:
1. Strengthen and empower local government authorities in Oke-Ogun.
2. Increase the presence of conventional security agencies across vulnerable communities.
3. Provide greater support and resources to the Amotekun Corps to enhance local security operations.
4. Collaborate closely with traditional rulers and community leaders to ensure intelligence gathering and community-based protection.
Oke-Ogun is part of Oyo State, and our people deserve safety, peace, and protection. We cannot continue to live under constant fear of attacks and banditry.
We strongly urge the government to act swiftly and decisively to restore peace and secure our land.
Let Oke-Ogun be safe again.
Let our people live without fear.
Signed,
Comrade Tiamiyu Waliu national pro
Comrade Adedeji lateef national secretary
Comrade Dr Ojedokun Jonathan national president
