*ÒKÈÒGÙN 2027: THE POWER OF TEAMWORK AND THE SPIRIT OF ONENESS* *Favour Adéwọyin,* October 31, 2025.  The agitation for Òkèògùn Governorship in 2027 has gone beyond a mere political aspiration; it has become a moral and generational mandate — a call for justice, equity, and fair representation in the political architecture of Ọ̀yọ́ State. Yet, if this dream must transcend rhetoric and become reality, Òkèògùn must rediscover the age-long virtue that has built great nations, transformed ordinary men into extraordinary achievers, and turned impossibility into triumph. That agelong virtue is no other virtue than the two-in-one virtue of Teamwork and Team Spirit. Teamwork, in Òkèògùn’s advocacy for Governorship Power Rotation, means all sons and daughters of the region uniting, speaking, and working together with one voice to achieve the common goal of producing the next governor. Team spirit, in Òkèògùn’s advocacy for Governorship Power Rotation, means standing together with loya...

" *Build a History That Generations Will Call Blessed"*  In the heart of Okeogun, a new dawn must rise. For too long, our people have been told what they cannot do, what they cannot achieve, and what positions they cannot hold in Oyo State.  But history is not written by those who accept limits — it is written by those who dare to break them. This is more than a political struggle; it is a mission to restore dignity, fairness, equity and opportunity to the sons and daughters of Okeogun.  To fight for our rightful place, not through bitterness, but through courage, unity, and unwavering faith. Do what seems impossible.  Stand where others fear to stand.  Speak where silence has been the rule. And when generations to come look back, let them say: "Here was a man — or woman — who did not just seek power, but sought purpose. Who did not just win an election for non Okeogun indigenes, but won history itself " Let the legacy of your struggle be a blessing — not j...

*ÒKÈÒGÙN: IT IS TIME TO RISE AND RECLAIM OUR POLITICAL DESTINY* *Favour Adéwọyin*  October 30, 2025.  For far too long, Òkèògùn — the land of courage, wisdom, and honour — has been treated as a political afterthought despite her rich human capital, vast natural endowments, and immense contribution to the development of Ọ̀yọ́ State. With ten vibrant local governments, Òkèògùn stands as a formidable force within the state’s political geography. Yet, election after election, our collective voice is muted, our aspirations are sidelined, and our political inheritance is handed over to those with far smaller numbers but greater unity and resolve. It is indeed a painful irony that Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́, with only three local governments, continues to produce senators for Ọ̀yọ́ North, while Òkèògùn — with more than triple that strength — remains divided and politically weakened. This imbalance is not due to lack of strength, intellect, or capacity, but due to a chronic lack of unity and st...

*ÒKÈÒGÙN: THE TIME TO DELAY GRATIFICATION AND EMBRACE PATRIOTISM* *Favour Adéwọyin,* October 29, 2025.  There comes a defining moment in the life of every people when history demands courage, restraint, and sacrifice from their leaders. For the Òkèògùn region of Ọ̀yọ́ State, that time is now. It is a time to rise above personal appetites and short-term gains; a time to reject the fleeting comfort of stomach infrastructure and embrace the enduring virtue of patriotism — the kind that puts the collective good before individual gratification. In our rich Yoruba wisdom, we say, “Ohun tá a ó jẹ́ l’àgbà, ohun tá a ó jẹ.” What one will become is greater than what one will eat. This timeless truth calls our attention to destiny over indulgence, purpose over pleasure, and posterity over politics of the belly. The political elites of Òkèògùn must internalise this saying and act with foresight. Leadership is not about what one can collect today, but what one can contribute for tomorrow....

*AND THE PEOPLE IS ONE!* *Favour Adéwọyin,* October 28, 2025 You may pause at the title and wonder if there’s a grammatical error. A grammarian, of course, would insist the correct expression should be “And the people are one” — since “people” is plural and therefore requires a plural verb. But in this context, my deliberate choice of “is” over “are” is far from a mistake — it is a profound statement of unity and purpose. The phrase, “And the people is one,” is borrowed from the divine observation in the story of the Tower of Babel, when God Himself acknowledged the extraordinary power of human agreement. He said, “The people is one, and nothing will be restrained from them which they have imagined to do.” That declaration captures a timeless truth: when people unite with one mind, no force can hinder their collective ambition that echoes the popular saying that said: "united we stand, divided we fall." Hence the eternal question: “Can two walk together except they agree?” I...

ÒKÈÒGÙN PEOPLE, LET US SPEAK WITH ONE VOICE *Favour Adéwọyin* October 27, 2025.  In every generation, there comes a defining moment when a people must rise above their differences, close ranks, and speak with one voice in pursuit of a collective destiny. For Òkèògùn, that moment is now. The year 2027 presents a historic opportunity for our region to take its rightful place in the political leadership of Ọ̀yọ́ State — not through sentiment or agitation, but through unity of purpose, strength of character, and the power of collective resolve. For far too long, Òkèògùn — the land of great minds, abundant resources, and resilient people — has remained on the fringes of political power. Despite its immense contribution to the social and economic development of Ọ̀yọ́ State, our region has not been given the chance to produce a governor. Yet, across Nigeria, other states have embraced the principle of rotational leadership — a practice that ensures fairness, justice, equity, and inc...

*THE POWER OF COMMITMENT* *Favour Adéwọyin* October 24, 2025.  My concern in this article is to examine the reason why unity, focus, and steadfastness must drive Òkèògùn’s push for power rotation in 2027. Commitment is the soul of every great achievement. It is the unseen force that drives progress, sustains vision, and transforms aspiration into accomplishment. Without commitment, even the most inspiring idea becomes a passing breeze. But with commitment — steady, united, and purposeful — dreams become realities and history bows to determination. As Oyo State approaches another decisive political transition, the call for Governorship Power Rotation to Òkèògùn come 2027 has grown louder and more justified. This advocacy, championed by Ẹgbẹ́ Àjọṣepọ̀ Fún Ìtẹsiwájú Gbogbo Wa, is not just another political agitation; it is a moral crusade built on justice, fairness, and balanced representation. For too long, Òkèògùn — a land rich in intellect, culture, enterprise, and patriotism...

*OKE OGUN'S PATH TO LIBERTY: FREEDOM DEMANDS COLLECTIVE ACTION.* Freedom is not free; it requires collective effort, determination, and sacrifice. As inhabitants of Oke Ogun, we must acknowledge the harsh realities hindering our progress: - Deplorable road conditions - Lack of development - Absence of industries and job opportunities - Neglect of our traditional leaders (Obas) - Inadequate infrastructure For far too long, we've endured these challenges, but it's time to break free from the shackles of stagnation. *Overcoming Obstacles on the Road to Freedom* We've faced: - Discouraging words from naysayers - Financial manipulation to dissuade our efforts - Fear-mongering tactics - Abuse and intimidation But we cannot be deterred. *A Call to Unity and Action* Sons and daughters of Oke Ogun, let us: - Unite in our quest for freedom and progress - Utilize our time, talents, and resources for the betterment of our land - Empower our leaders to drive positive change - Foste...

*Patience and progress: Assurance on the steady takeoff of FUNATO*  Dear esteemed members of the public, It is understandable that many are eager for the commencement of academic and administrative activities at the newly established Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho (FUNATO). However, it is important to emphasize that the current delay in admitting students and recruiting staff does not signify neglect or denial on the part of government. As our people wisely say, “Ape koto jeun, kii je idi baje” (a delay in eating does not spoil the meal). The University Administration, in close collaboration with the FUNATO Planning Committee, relevant stakeholders across OkeOgun, and the University Governing Council, is diligently ensuring that every step is taken in line with federal guidelines. FUNATO, being the last among the newly announced universities in the South, is progressing according to the approved national schedule. The Federal Ministry of Education rem...

*WARNING AGAINST THE SPIRIT OF GEHAZI* *Favour Adéwọyin* October 22, 2025 There is a spirit within every man that influences his thoughts, choices, and actions. That spirit was divinely created by God, but it yields either to the influence of the Spirit of God or to the corruption of the evil one — depending on where the heart leans at any given time. Gehazi, the servant of Prophet Elisha, stands as a timeless example of what becomes of a man who allows greed to overpower divine purpose. Elisha himself was the successor of the mighty Elijah — the prophet who called down fire from heaven, commanded the rain to cease, and spoke it back into being. Elisha, blessed with a double portion of that anointing, performed even greater exploits. By divine order, Gehazi was positioned to inherit an even greater grace — a fourfold anointing. But he lost everything, not because of lack of opportunity, but because of covetousness. Gehazi’s downfall was not written by his enemies; it was self-infl...

*HAPPY 5TH ANNIVERSARY ON THE THRONE* The Oke-Ogun Indigenous Youths Solidarity Forum, led by Comrade Dr. Ojedokun Jonathan, extends heartfelt congratulations to HRM Oba Alayelua Jonah Olagboyega Awujola Akolade Oniro, the revered monarch of Komu Kingdom, on the auspicious occasion of his 5th anniversary on the throne. We sincerely appreciate your visionary leadership and mentorship, which have been instrumental in promoting the growth and development of our beloved fatherland, Oke-Ogun.  *THE REASON FOR OUR AGITATION* *Favour Adéwọyin* October 20, 2025 Purpose is the reason for creation — the original intent behind every being or thing. As Dr. Myles Munroe rightly said, “When purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable.” Indeed, Ẹgbẹ́ Àjọṣepọ̀ Fún Ìtẹsiwájú Gbogbo Wa was not formed by chance. It was established with a clear, divine, and historic mission: to advocate for the rotation of governorship power in Ọ̀yọ́ State — from Ìbàdàn to Òkèògùn come 2027. *A Divine Mandate'* This advocacy is not just political — it is spiritual. Like Jacob who once declared, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I knew it not,” we affirm that God is in, behind, and around this movement. He is the Author and Finisher of every righteous struggle, from the deliverance of Israel from Egypt to liberation movements across history. Our agitation, therefore, is not rebellion; it is revelation. It is not ambition; it is conviction. Like Moses, who carried a divine vision for the emancipation...

*MAKE YOURSELF A HISTORY IN OKE-OGUN*  A Legacy for Generations to Come For too long, Oke-Ogun, the land of strength, culture, agriculture, and resilience, has remained on the sidelines of executive power in Oyo State. Now, the wind of history is shifting. Now, Oke-Ogun is rising — with hope, with unity, and with a clear vision. This is not just another election season.  This is a moment of destiny. Each political party has a duty — a moral and strategic duty — to recognize Oke-Ogun, not just in words but in action. And that action begins with this:  Give Oke-Ogun the Governorship slot.  Support an Oke-Ogun candidate with competence, integrity, and capacity. Write a new chapter in Oyo’s political history — one that includes every region fairly.  **To Politicians of Oke-Ogun Origin:*  This is your moment to rise — not for yourself alone, but for a people, for a place, for generations yet unborn. Don’t just run for office — run with purpose. Don’t just ...

*ÒKÈÒGÙN ARISE: FOR YOUR TIME HAS COME* *Favour Adéwọyin,* October 20, 2025.  This article is a call on Òkèògùn people to rise, unite and claim their place in history in 2027. For decades, Òkèògùn region has remained a silent pillar of Ọ̀yọ́ State. It is rich in culture, abundant in human and natural resources, steadfast in loyalty, and unbroken in spirit.  Yet, from the days of the old Western Region till this very moment, Òkèògùn has been deliberately sidelined and systematically excluded from the highest seat of power, that is, the Governorship of Ọ̀yọ́ State.  It is good to say that this long-standing neglect is not only an affront to our collective dignity but also a direct contradiction of the principles of fairness, justice, equity, equality, and inclusivity that define true democracy. Across Nigeria, states have embraced the noble spirit of rotation and inclusion, thereby allowing every region, every people, and every community to partake in leadership. It i...

*Oyo 2027: A Call for Equity and Progress* By Akeem Bonuola As it's often said, power is never served à la carte; it's a complex dish that requires careful preparation and sharing. However, power rotation can make it possible for marginalised regions to get a taste of it. By rotating power, we can ensure that every region contributes to and benefits from governance. As Oyo State approaches the 2027 elections, the Oke-Ogun region is making a strong case for its candidate to lead the state. Historically marginalised politically, socially, economically, and infrastructurally, Oke-Ogun's turn to lead is not just a matter of fairness but also a necessity for balanced development. Oke-Ogun, comprising ten local government areas (Atisbo, Irepo, Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Iwajowa, Kajola, Olorunsogo, Orelope, Saki East, and Saki West), has been never led the state. Since Nigeria's independence, no indigene from this region has served as governor, highlighting the need for equitable re...

*"OKE OGUN LEADERS, DON'T GIVE UP! KEEP WORKING TOWARDS A BRIGHTER FUTURE OF OUR FATHER LAND* Leadership is not for the faint of heart; it's a challenging journey filled with obstacles and setbacks. However, it's in these moments of adversity that true leaders are forged. Remember, every great achievement requires perseverance, resilience, and determination. *Don't let temporary defeats discourage you from your long-term vision. Instead, use them as opportunities to learn, grow, and come back stronger.* To all Oke Ogun leaders, don't use your power, capacity, and energy to suppress incoming leaders in our community. You are not alone in this journey. Many leaders before you have faced similar struggles and have emerged victorious. Draw inspiration from their stories, and know that you too can overcome any hurdle. Your leadership is a gift to your community, organization, or team. *Incoming leaders, don't let discouragement rob you of the impact you can mak...

*STOP DRINKING: PROTECT YOUR FUTURE, PROTECT YOUR LIFE* Dear fellow youths of Oke-Ogun, As young people, we have our whole lives ahead of us, full of promise and potential. However, there's a silent killer that's been claiming lives, destroying futures, and ruining families - excessive alcohol consumption. As your National President, I'm using this medium to remind you that we are the leaders of tomorrow - the kings, presidents, local government chairmen, senators, governors, etc. of our land. Let's work towards a brighter future and play our part in shaping the destiny of Oke-Ogun. *The Dangers of Excessive Drinking* Drinking excessively can lead to: - Liver damage and liver disease - Increased risk of heart problems, strokes, and high blood pressure - Mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety - Poor academic performance and reduced productivity - Increased risk of accidents, injuries, and violence - Addiction and dependence *The Consequences Are Real* Exce...

*THE BEAUTY OF HAVING A GOVERNOR FROM ÒKÈÒGÙN IN 2027* *Favour Adéwọyin,* October 16, 2025.  Òkèògùn is not just a geographical zone in Ọ̀yọ́ State — it is the soul of resilience, the cradle of integrity, and the silent engine of possibility. This region, blessed with vast fertile land, rich mineral deposits, and people of exceptional character, stands today as a sleeping giant waiting to awaken and redefine the trajectory of Ọ̀yọ́ State. The conversation about the 2027 governorship election cannot be complete without giving serious thought to the beauty, logic, and justice of producing a governor from Òkèògùn. At the heart of Òkèògùn lies the Ọmọlúàbí spirit — a culture of integrity, discipline, hard work, humility, and community service. The people of this region are not only industrious but deeply rooted in values that sustain peace and progress. In every walk of life — academia, business, politics, public service, and global leadership — Òkèògùn indigenes have distinguish...

*Oke Ogun Sons and Daughters, Be Wise: What the Zones That Have Occupied Governorship Enjoy – And Don't Want Others to Know*  Dear sons and daughters of Oke Ogun, This is a time for reflection, awareness, and action. For decades, Oke Ogun, despite being one of the most resource-rich and culturally significant regions in Oyo State, has remained on the sidelines of political leadership – particularly in the governorship of our dear state. Other zones – Ibadan, Ogbomoso, Oyo – have had their turns in government house.  They have tasted the power, resources, and privileges that come with the governorship seat. But let us ask ourselves: What exactly do these zones enjoy when they occupy the seat of power? And why is it that they do not want others – especially Oke Ogun – to experience the same? Let us break it down: 1. *Control Over State Resources*  The zone that holds the governorship controls the flow of state resources. They decide: Where major infrastructure project...
