*DON’T GO WITHOUT LEAVING A GOOD RECORD THAT WILL SPEAK FOR YOU IN THE FUTURE.*

A record is the lasting evidence

of our actions the footprint we leave behind when our time and opportunity have passed. The question we must all ask ourselves is: What record are we keeping today?

Whatever we do for the youths today will wait for us tomorrow as history. Our actions, decisions, and investments in young people will either speak in our favor or stand as missed opportunities. The future is not built tomorrow; it is built by what we do today.

Youths are the backbone of every community. They are not to be neglected in our plans and programmes. Any society that ignores its youths is indirectly weakening its own future. Across the world, developed nations are intentionally building and empowering their young generations to take up leadership, innovation, and responsibility. Why should Oke-Ogun be different?

We must begin to mentor, train, guide, and empower our youths so they can become responsible leaders and nation-builders. By doing so, we leave behind legacies that will speak positively of us long after we are gone.

A shining example we can emulate is Obafemi Awolowo. He invested in education, youth development, and progressive policies that transformed lives. Decades after his time, Nigerians still speak of his visionary leadership and commitment to human development. His name remains relevant because he built people, especially the younger generation. His legacy continues to inspire because he left records that history cannot erase.

You too can be part of history. You can be among those who raise future leaders, who support education, who encourage innovation, and who stand for youth empowerment. When you invest in young people, you are investing in a future that will remember you with honor.

Therefore, I call on all sons and daughters of Oke-Ogun: this is the best time to invest in our youths and prepare them for a better tomorrow. Oke-Ogun has great potential that can be harnessed to reposition our region for greater development and, in time, greater autonomy and excellence.

Let us remember always:

The youths of today are the leaders of tomorrow.

May this new week inspire us to build legacies that will speak well of us in the future.
