VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON THE LEADERSHIP OF GOVERNOR SEYI MAKINDE AND SPEAKER DEBO OGUNDOYIN




Solidarity greetings to the good people of Oyo State.

We, the collective voice of all registered youth groups under the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, representing vibrant and progressive young people across the 33 Local Government Areas of our dear state, rise in unity, conviction, and patriotic responsibility to pass a resounding vote of confidence on the purposeful and people-centered leadership of His Excellency, Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, and the Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin, Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly.

This declaration is not driven by sentiment, but by verifiable facts, visible transformation, and the undeniable impact of governance that has repositioned Oyo State on the path of sustainable growth and inclusive development.

Over the years, we have witnessed a leadership style that prioritizes the welfare of the people above political distractions. 


The administration of Governor Seyi Makinde has proven beyond doubt that governance can be humane, strategic, and forward-thinking. From rescuing the state from economic stagnation to laying a solid foundation for prosperity, this government has demonstrated capacity, courage, and commitment.


Across the length and breadth of Oyo State, the evidence of progress is clear and undeniable. From massive road construction and rehabilitation projects that have improved connectivity and boosted economic activities, to strategic investments in infrastructure that are redefining urban and rural development, this administration has shown what it means to govern with purpose. The emphasis on security of lives and property has restored confidence among residents and investors alike, while deliberate policies in education have ensured that the future of our young people is secured.

Furthermore, the administration’s commitment to sustainable agricultural development has not only enhanced food security but also created employment opportunities for thousands of youths. Through targeted youth empowerment initiatives, skills acquisition programs, and inclusive governance, young people in Oyo State are no longer spectators but active participants in developmental processes.


We also commend the synergy between the Executive Arm and the Legislature, ably led by Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin. His leadership has ensured legislative stability, cooperation, and the timely passage of policies that support the developmental agenda of the state. 


This collaboration has been instrumental in driving the progress we see today.

At this critical time in the history of Oyo State, we call on Governor Seyi Makinde to remain steadfast and focused. The distractions from certain quarters must not be allowed to derail the good work that is ongoing. 


The future of our state is too important to be compromised by baseless criticism or politically motivated noise. Leadership requires courage, and we urge His Excellency to continue on this path of transformation with even greater determination.

To the Rt. Hon. Speaker, we charge you to remain resolute and committed to your legislative responsibilities. The task ahead requires unity, vision, and continued collaboration with the Executive to sustain the tempo of development in the state.

As youths, we are not only stakeholders but also custodians of  both the present and the future. Our support for this administration is rooted in the visible impact of its policies and the hope it has restored in the hearts of young people. We reaffirm that all registered youth groups across the 33 Local Government Areas stand firmly with the Executive Governor and the leadership of the House of Assembly.

We will continue to support, defend, and promote policies that bring development, unity, and prosperity to our people. We will also not hesitate to speak truth to power when necessary, because our loyalty is ultimately to the progress of Oyo State.

In conclusion, this vote of confidence is a call for continuity, stability, and sustained progress. Oyo State is moving forward, and together, we must ensure that nothing stops this momentum.

Long live the youth of Oyo State.

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
