KIDNAPPING IS BECOMING TOO COMMON IN OKE-OGUN: A CALL FOR URGENT ACTION

Oke-Ogun, which comprises the ten Local Government Areas of Saki West, Saki East, Atisbo, Orelope, Irepo, Olorunsogo, Itesiwaju, Iwajowa, Kajola, and Iseyin, is known for its peaceful people, rich culture, and hardworking communities. However, the increasing rate of kidnapping and insecurity across our region has become a serious concern that requires urgent attention.

The Oke-Ogun Indigenous Youths Solidarity Forum is using this medium to passionately appeal to all our respected Royal Fathers, community leaders, security agencies, and stakeholders across Oke-Ogun to rise and take immediate action against this growing menace.

We respectfully urge our traditional rulers to engage and hold meetings with the leaders of all groups and communities residing within Oke-Ogun, including Fulani, Bororo, Tagita, Yowabu, and other groups, in order to promote peace, understanding, and security in our land.

Our Royal Fathers should also firmly warn against any form of criminal activity capable of threatening the peace and safety of our people. Security is everyone’s responsibility, and we must all work together to protect lives and properties across Oke-Ogun.

Kidnapping has become too common in our communities, and silence is no longer an option. We must unite to restore peace, safety, and confidence among our people.

Together, we can make Oke-Ogun safe again.
